Ultrasound

Dr. Randy Zimmerman's office has state of the art Voluson ultrasound equipment which has 3 dimensional / 4 dimensional technology that allows for more detailed imaging especially in gynecological cases.    The use of 4 dimensional option shows 3 dimensional objects moving in almost real time.

Obstetric ultrasound aids in:

  • Determining the gestational age of the pregnancy

  • Confirming fetal viability

  • Determining fetal location

  • Checking the location of the placenta in relation to the cervix

  • Ascertaining the number of fetuses in multiple pregnancies

  • Observing physical abnormalities

  • Following fetal movement and heartbeat

  • In-office amniocentesis and sonohystograms

  • Assessing fetal growth (for evidence of intrauterine growth restriction)

Gynecologic ultrasound aids in:

  • Identifying a pelvic mass

  • Finding causes of pelvic pain

  • Finding causes of abnormal bleeding or other menstrual problems

  • Finding the position of an intrauterine device (IUD)

  • Diagnosing and treat infertility

  • Determining the shape of the uterine cavity with 3-D imaging
